Today I am proud to announce a complete rewrite of the site: UltimateBrickReference 5. You may be wondering, why am I going from 2 or 3 to 5? Well, ASP.NET 5 Release Candidate is now out. I, for some odd reason, want to skip to 5 to match ASP.NET 5. That's the only version I'll use the same number for.
About Version 5
Version 5 will use cutting-edge web technologies, Such as ASP.NET 5, MVC 6, and HTML5/CSS3. I Plan to stay up to date on web technology from this point forward, as this version of the site was originally made in Visual Studio 2012 with .NET 4.5.0. The new site will have many features, including, but not limited to:
- Reimplementing the Account System
- Fully Responsive Design
- Rewritten in MVC (ASP.NET 5 is based around it and web forms is soon to be obsolete)
- Custom Content Management System for future staff to easily administer the site
- Set Reviews
- Details Pages
- Possibly collection management
- Much More!!!
I hope you guys are excited for this update. I plan to release it sometime in Quarters 2 or 3 of this year (April to September), so be prepared!
